Werner Scholem was the political brother in a family that also produced a great scholar of mysticism. Journalism and party work took him into the Reichstag while the republic still breathed.
Buchenwald ended the argument. We record him without campaigning for his faction: a Jewish parliamentarian who would not recant, killed for remaining himself.
